Staying in one of Aldubo’s beautiful holiday homes means peace and quiet. And since Texel has the most sun hours in the Netherlands, you can enjoy the sun on one of the cottages’ sheltered terraces from early spring to late autumn. Discover the surroundings
National park
Aldubo is situated at the edge of Texel Dunes National Park. As a result, your cottage is the ideal starting point for various hikes or cycling routes in the area. Your hostess will be happy to tell you more. Bird lovers will find Texel a true bird paradise.
Cycling and hiking
You could of course bring your own bike to Texel, but we can just as easily arrange a rental bike for you. The Rozendijk is situated right along a bike track, and there are many more beautiful routes. Did you know that Texel has more than 135 kilometres of cycle paths? Hikers too have come to the right place. Several marked walks can be accessed right from your cottage. And it’s only a short walk to the beach through the adjacent forest area.
Culture and culinary delights
Aldubo is 3 km from the characteristic village of Den Hoorn with its theatre, art galleries and restaurants. Did you know Texel even has a Michelin-starred restaurant? It is a mere 6 km to the bustling seaside resort and entertainment centre of De Koog and 4 km to island’s central town of Den Burg. Check the Texel agenda for the various activities and restaurants for all ages.
Beaches
Aldubo is just 2 kilometres from a beautiful and child-friendly beach – 5 minutes by car or, alternatively, a nice walk through the dunes or a short bicycle ride. In addition to swimming, the beach offers opportunities for catamaran sailing and kite and windsurfing. And of course, you can enjoy a drink in one of the numerous beach pavilions, such as Paal 9 (‘Beach post 9’).
Golf
Texel boasts one of the finest 18-hole golf courses in the Netherlands, aptly called De Texelse. Situated amidst the dunes, the golf course features beautiful ponds and large greens.
